Glenn Greenwald

Do you remember [[Politics:Personalities:Edward Snowden] and who leaked that the NSA was spying on all Americans? Well, the reporter he went through was Glenn Greenwald. A left-wing reporter and I think he was with The Guardian at the time? Not sure. Later, Greenwald co-founded another left-wing news outlet called The Intercept. I believe the idea of the Intercept was to allow its reporters to report – basically free from editorial interference. I'm sure they had an exception where they could keep reporters from getting the outlet into legal trouble, but other than that, as I understand it. The reporters were supposed to be liberated from external and even internal corporate/political interests.

In 2020, IIRC, Glenn Greenwald resigned from The Intercept because the editors were getting in the way of reporting on The Hunter Biden Scandal. I can't remember if this was over Hunter Biden's laptop and-or Hunter allegedly being a front for his father to accept bribes from foreigners.

At any rate, Glenn Greenwald who lives in Brazil was also allegedly targeted by the conservative government. I can't remember the details, but I think he alleged he was being persecuted for writing about corruption in the Brazilian conservative government.
