Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow on Linux Mint

Sure, Sam Fisher is cliche in the sense that he's portrayed as one helluva bad ass. But when you play Splinter Cell and you get Sam killed over and over again in a realistic way – well it makes our hero – who ultimately wins the day through the divine power of loading your last save – it makes our hero feel like the real deal.

The first three Splinter Cell games are packed tightly with seriousness with a sharp levity that really pull me in. In the picture above Sam just witnessed the villainous Suhadi Sadono murder a man at the U.S. Embassy in East Timor. Sam isn't flippant here, he's focused. The team that put together this story and animation did an amazing job.

Pandora Tomorrow is a great story, and the game mechanics are well put together. However, the PC port was and still remains a bit of mess. So much so that I think this is why you can't get the game on Steam. However, fans have patched this thing up and it's looking pretty good on PC. On Linux, I'd say it needs some anti-aliasing work done when you are in night vision. But, if you can set that aesthetic issue aside and let yourself get buried in the story. This is one of the best one's ever produced in video games.
