Half-Life and the Backwards Walking/Running Mechanic

So yesterday I started playing Half-Life (It was on sell for I think $3 in late November and I finally got a chance to play it a bit.)

First, thing I hated was the reversal of how running and walking was. So, I found this fix on it's Steam community page.

Bioshock Remastered on Linux Mint

--- Tom Clark 2022/01/16 22:51

Here is the report I left on ProtonDB:

This was my first time playing any Bioshock title. I went through it at a leisurely pace. I had two crashes and it seemed to be when things got pretty crazy graphically on the screen. So it's probably a Nvidia driver issue. The game played smooth and the graphics were great. I appreciate the art style. The game is a first person shooter but you also have a range of magic-like powers that …

Sam Fisher in the first three games in the Splinter Cell series is quite possibly the best fictional game character ever written and voiced. Michael Ironside delivers to us a mature character where the humor truly lands because it really isn't delivered in your current year wokeish goofiness.

For a run down on whether you would like this game or not, it's pretty much the same game with a different story as Bioshock Remastered. There are a couple of updates that I think improve the game play, such as technology hacking is quicker and all passive upgrades are in a single pool.

I finished BioShock 1 & 2 Remastered, but I got bored of this game at about the 4 hour mark, so everything I say is based on the early game experience. I liked the art and the new premise but the AI was the worst AI I think I've seen in a AAA game and the gun play was unsatisfying. But a lot of others like the game, so I would say it's worth a try if you can catch it on sale.
