Cowboy Bebop: The Good, the Bad, and the Netflix
by Chris Stuckmann via Youtube
I'm not a fan of anime, but I watched this live action adaptation and I thought it was pretty good entertainment. It had some parts that sucked, sure. However, the acting was mostly good. I think the special effects were good for a TV series. Many episodes were interesting but a couple were boring. Anyway, I think most of the criticism against this show is misguided. After I watched the live action stuff, I watched some of the anime and I think this was a respectful adaptation.
I agree with Stuckmann that the main antagonist in the live action just wasn't terrifying. I'm not sure how, but if they could have made him more terrifying in a real way, instead of this over the top way. That would have been better. I think all the fighting choreography should have been made to be more realistic and have consequences. Also, I'm not a big fan of people walking away with sore shoulders when they've taken a bullet. I want being shot to mean something, otherwise guns aren't menacing. Anyway, I liked it and I hope they make a second season.
